Today, mankind celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. What would its’ editors and promoters think today of the charter’s fulfillment or not ? Alongside the various efforts of pacifists, humanists and international institutions, especially those made by the United Nations, each of us should reflect on how to make this world a better place by respecting it. Because human rights and their implementation are not some abstract theory one reads in books or others mention during summits and conferences, but something tangible and daily that daily affects all of us. Liberty, dignity, equality, peace are an individual responsability above all.

Aujourd’hui, l’humanité célèbre le 70e anniversaire de la Déclaration Universelle des Droits de l’Homme. Que penseraient aujourd’hui ses rédacteurs et promoteurs de la Charte, et de son respect ou non ? Indépendamment des différents efforts des pacifistes, humanistes et institutions internationales, tout particulièrement ceux accomplis par les Nations Unies, chacun de nous doit réfléchir au moyen de rendre ce monde meilleur en la faisant respecter. Parce que les droits humains et leur application ne sont pas une théorie abstraite que l’on lit dans des livres ou que l’on évoque lors de sommets ou de conférences, mais quelque chose de tangible et de quotidien nous affectant tous. Et que nous devons tous aider à leur respect. La liberté, la dignité, l’égalité, la paix sont une responsabilité individuelle avant tout.
